- Bell X1 finishes up their U.S. tour tonight, June 4, at Irving Plaza with Brooke Waggoner and special guest Gemma Hayes. You will not want to miss this last show before the lads head home! - Paddy-Whacked Radio™ staple Pier Nineteen, who will be performing with Bell X1’s David Geraghty at the already sold-out 2fm 2moro tour on November 19, can be seen in Galway this Saturday, June 7. They will be performing at Campbells Tavern with Apartment 44 to benefit the PREDA Foundation which is dedicated to helping abused children and exploited women. - Delorentos will be performing this year at Oxegen 2008 (beginning July 11, 2008), but before then, they will play gigs in Limerick, Cork, and Galway in July, kicking it off with a June 27 show at The Academy in Dublin. Check out dates and showtimes and get your tickets here.
- Elavator is one of the finalists in the last round of the Emergenza Music Festival this Saturday, June 7 at Vicar Street in Dublin. Be sure to go out there and check out the 12 bands for only €12!
- If you caught a show on The Swell Season’s recent tour, or if you have tickets to or are wanting to go to one of the upcoming European or U.S. dates, the MySpace blog Post-Tour Epilogue offers a wealth of Swell Season-related links, including photography, live concert downloads, and names of and links to the many musical guests on the tour. There is a cornucopia of information there to keep you occupied until the next Swell Season show!
- The incredibly-talented Colm Mac Con Iomaire, better known as the violinist for The Swell Season and The Frames, has just released his solo debut, The Hare’s Corner. On his website of the same name, you can learn the lovely origin of the album title, sign up for the mailing list, and sample then purchase the CD. The website is navigable both in English and in Gaelige. The stirring “The Blue Shoes” from The Hare’s Corner was featured on the Paddy-Whacked Radio™ New Music Segment on the May 19, 2008 FM broadcast.
