<itunes:subtitle>Mostly Irish, Mostly Independent. The compact version.</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Paddy-Whacked Radio™, As of August 2011, this Podcast will MOSTLY be a shortened version (30 to 60 minutes) of the Paddy-Whacked Radio FM show (look up Paddy-Whacked Radio and click the FM version for the 2 hour show). --- The internet's home for Irish Independents! ----http://pwradio.net is the place to go to see what we're all about! Paddy-Whacked Radio (tm) Podcast and the Paddy-Whacked Radio (tm) FM radio show on WQFS in Greensboro North Carolina (two separate podcasts) take on the word of Irish Independent music, with a dose of Traditional, as well as some celtic punk. PWRadio presents mostly rock, and acoustic music from Ireland and the Irish abroad.

---------- The Indie music scene is alive and thriving in Ireland and has produced some recent hit makers like The Frames, Damien Rice, The Swell Season, Bell X1, as well as classics like Sinead O'Connor, U2, Elvis Costello, Thin Lizzy and Rory Gallagher.
----------

Hi all,

Sorry for the wait on this one. I was respectfully awaiting approval from the Bellies. I just got word from their US management, and so here it is!

Paul Noonan and David Geraghty of Bell X1 were very kind in stopping by the campus of Guilford College in Greensboro North Carolina on their way from Raleigh NC to Atlanta GA (I think) to chat with Paddy-Whacked Radioâ„¢ on WQFS in Greensboro.

I hope you enjoy this!

Please know that the fidelity of the recording is limited to studio equipment (it’s college radio, eh?). Also, please forgive the squeaky door during the final live song. Someone decided it was a good idea to walk in and out of the studio at that particular time. (grumble grumble).

One of the great joys of my radio show was the stream of live musicians who came through and played. The show is over, at least as it existed on WMFO, but I thought it would be fun to put some of the live performances into a podcast. And here it is.

My final show on WMFO featured a visit from the legendary band, The Waterboys!! In this episode, among other things, you’ll hear all three songs that they played live, as well as a segment of the interview with singer Mike Scott.

I plan on bringing the FM radio show back to life in January, after my family and I are settled in our new home in North Carolina. With luck the station I hope to get a spot at may be on line by then. If you’re interested, you’ll be able to follow the progress on this this through the Myspace blog.

Episode 8 is in the works and hopefully coming soon, with luck. I have a baby due in a short while, so we’ll see how much time I have to get it together. It will feature all live performances, mostly recorded on or by Paddy-Whacked Radio! The Waterboys will be featured, including an interview with singer, Mike Scott.

Don’t forget to check out http://myspace.com/pwradio for details about the podcast and my weekly radio show, Paddy-Whacked Radioâ„¢ Boston!

Oh and hey, if you like what you hear, there are a couple of things you can do to help keep PWRadio going and going strong:
1. Head on over to iTunes and leave a review so people know what’s going on here.
2. Make a donation. There are links on my main page and podcast pages, as well as on my myspace page. All donations are made securely through PayPal.

I want to thank all those who have donated already! It all goes back into the show, including software, server space, equipment and music.

Thanks again, and I will see you soon!
